Volvo is known to be a worldwide supplier of busses, interstate trucks, airplane engines and construction equipments. But among others, Volvo is also known to be one of the best suppliers of luxury vehicles not just in Sweden but as well as other countries including the United States. Volvo was established in Sweden in 1927. Today, it is already bought by Ford Motor Company and lined it up with its premier car brands. Before this division was purchased by FMC, it was then a subsidiary of a vehicle part maker SKF (Svenska Kullagerfabriken AB). Today, the Ford division makes and distributes its own Volvo parts to compensate with its released car models.
The very first car made by Volvo was the OV 4. This was sent to market in April 14, 1927. For over 90 years of car production, it has made several innovations. More than that, precision engineered and performance Volvo parts were also produced. Among these auto parts are the laminated windshields that were first used in Volvo PV model, safety belts and all others. Modern technologies that are integrated in the new breed of Volvo cars include the Adaptive Cruise Control or the ACC in the S80 and the Collision Warning and Brake Support system.
